Dental Crowns & Bridges in Tweed Heads

Are you concerned that your teeth have been damaged? Over the years, traumas or the ageing process can take their toll on your smile. If you would like to restore the health of your smile and improve your appearance, crowns or bridges may be the ideal solution. We provide high-quality crowns and bridges that will last for years to come.

Custom-Created Caps For Your Teeth

A crown is like a cap that covers a tooth with compromised health. It increases its strength and improves the tooth’s aesthetics. If you have had a root canal treatment or a weakened tooth, a crown is likely appropriate.

Today, more people than ever are keeping their natural teeth for longer. As a result, some of your teeth might have large fillings or be structurally weak. If so, these teeth will be more likely to have fractures and cracks, resulting in the loss of the tooth. The benefits of crowns include:

  • To protect old or heavily filled teeth
  • To prevent and repair fractures and cracks
  • To restore and maintain your natural bite
  • To prevent stress on your other teeth
  • To prevent the shifting and tilting of adjacent teeth
  • To prevent periodontal disease or further decay of your remaining teeth
  • To enhance your smile, speech and chewing function

High-Quality, Australian-Made Dental Bridges

Would you like an efficient solution to replacing gaps where you have missing teeth? A bridge anchors to the teeth adjacent to the open space, giving a permanent, fixed option that fills the space. Our skilled team uses the most recent technology and works with an Australian-based laboratory to create your bridge.

A bridge isn’t just a tooth replacement. It can prevent neighbouring teeth from shifting out of place, restoring your natural bite and preventing problems such as decay and periodontal disease.

What to Expect in Getting a Crown or Bridge

There are two appointments at TC Smiles to get a dental crown or bridge. The first step is to have a consultation where we’ll take diagnostics such as X-rays. These images help determine if a crown or bridge is the best way to proceed. If so, we’ll take impressions of the tooth and determine the proper shade for your restoration.

We’ll send the impressions to our Australian-based laboratory, where they will custom-create your crown or bridge. You’ll receive a temporary restoration until your permanent one is sent back to us.

When your crown or bridge arrives at our clinic, you’ll return for another appointment. We’ll fit your crown or bridge, then use a strong cement to place it.

They can be made of porcelain, ceramic, gold or other metals, depending on the dentist and the patient.

How long do crowns last?

Generally speaking, 10 to 20 years. However, it all depends on how well the patient takes care of their oral health. With proper care and oral health habits, crowns can last for many, many more years.

Why do I need a crown?

We put our teeth under a lot more stress than in the past.
