When you think of braces, images of teens or tweens sporting metal grins may come to mind. While millions of teens do wear metal braces, there are many high-quality orthodontic options to straighten your smile.
Toddlers. Does your young child suck their thumb? Though it’s a common habit, it can be harmful to tooth development. That’s because thumb-sucking can push teeth out of position. If your child sucks their thumb, there’s a strong likelihood that they’ll need orthodontics in their teen years or later. If your child sucks their thumb, we can refer you to a specialist to have the habit addressed.
Children. Did you know that taking a preventative approach now can mean your child could avoid orthodontic treatment when they are teens? We encourage you to bring your child in for a consultation. If we believe that they can benefit from early orthodontic intervention, we’ll refer them to a local specialist. If your child is already a patient with us, we will examine them during their six-month checkups.
Teenagers. If your preteen or teenager has all their adult teeth, they can get braces. Individuals under 18 typically get the greatest benefit from conventional metal braces. As aligner systems are removable, teens may not comply with wearing them for the required 22 hours a day. In most cases, teens will wear conventional braces for 18-24 months. Teen patients will come into the clinic every 6-8 weeks so we can evaluate their progress.
Adults. Maybe you wished you had gotten braces as a teen but think that, now that you’re older, it’s too late. Think again! We offer an array of smile-straightening options to align your smile.
Invisalign® .Known around the world, these clear aligners are effective, discreet and gentle. The aligners are removable, so you can easily take them out to eat or brush your teeth.
